  • Still without a new club...

Jamilu Collins, Anwar El Ghazi, Yakou Meite, Joe Ralls and Andy Rinomhota.

And, of course, Erol Bulut and Omer Riza.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey hasn't kicked a ball for Pumas UNAM in Mexico.

I also noticed today that Wilfried Kanga is back in Belgium, having lasted just five months at Dinamo Zagreb before being offloaded to Gent.

And somehow our recruitment team remains the same.

Might see them get moves in September once clubs can't sign from other teams

Surprised at Rinomhota & Meite though, would have thought Reading would be in for those 2

Rinomhota is the only one that surprises me at this stage. I think he'll probably find a Championship club eventually.

Remember when we were being told by some of his supporters (and by the local press) how lucky the club was to be snapping up Erol Bulut on another two-year contract as he was in demand all over Europe?

        So much for that...

Quite a lot of noise this last week that El Ghazi might be signed by Valencia. Not happened (yet) but for once rightly described as 'shock news'. I suppose his playing reputation up to 2023, and a smart agent, might mean there is something in this?

That wouldn't be the same local press that lauded our recruitment team as one of the most efficient in the Championship by any chance?

I think Rinomhota may struggle to get a Championship club, he isn't good enough on the ball for a midfielder imo. Maybe a Charlton or Derby who are a bit more direct, Wednesday a possibility as they can bring in frees? I think he's from Yorkshire, saw rumours that Bradford were interested

The rest I can't say I'm hugely surprised but I'd imagine most will get a club, the players that is.

I thought it was Mehmet Dalman who said that and the press just reported what he said.

No, it was Patrick Deboys blowing his own trumpet.

hundreds of other free agents out there, according to transfermarkt who will presumably end up somewhere

Wouldn't be the worst idea to get Ralls back, we shouldn't have let him go anyway. We'll have more games like Port Vale which he'd have thrived in.

that depends what kind of wage he expects and how many games we would be likely to get out of him per season

Horrific idea. We’ve moved on, the team has moved on.

I'll revisit this when we take 1 point this week and Luton run over us.

Cardiff City's head of recruitment has revealed how the club had to rip up their old transfer strategy and implement a new system which is "one of the most efficient in the Championship".

Presumably it's now one of the most efficient in League One, although we haven't seen much evidence of that so far this summer.
