  • The managers words

We have heard words from too many managers in recent years, buying in to what we have liked hearing and being critical of what we didn’t like.

Most often the words have not matched the outcomes.

So far I have been very impressed with BBM’s statements - hopefully they will continue to be matched by results including the right new signings.

It’s still early days but hope is turning into optimism.

I like the fact he’s decisive. Doesn’t mess about, drops players that need dropping, plays players that train well.

I thought in particular his explanation of the Mafico starting and coming off and what he thinks of the player moving forward was classy and shows his experience of working with younger players.

He did use ‘in the building’ once. I trust he’s been hauled over the coals for that!!!!!!!

Poor bloke, he’s not had the chance to use “get it over the line” yet.

Being serious, after struggling to understand what he was saying in his early media appearances, I’ve got used to him and it’s no longer a problem. I’m enjoying his press conferences now.

I don’t think he is, maybe he was a bit nervous at first and has settled into things now?

                Sometimes, but not so much.

I reckon he talks faster when he's nervous (forgets his 'media training' and reverts to his natural speech patterns).

If he slows down, he's more confident. So if we understand him clearly that is good news for two reasons!

I read at 10mph so not a problem.

I noticed he was taking very small sips from a water bottle today and wondered if it was something to give him a bit more time to think about what he was going to say.

I understood what he was saying for the first time this week, aren't subtitles wonderful. :hehe:

Maybe we are doing so well because the players don’t understand a word he says.

Media team have been onto him if that's the case! One of the first things I was told to do in my work's media training course

I don’t find him difficult to understand at all. I don’t even think he talks particularly quickly. I guess some just aren’t used to the accent.
