No-one is blaming him for getting injured. And his wages were almost certainly the highest of the individual players.

Of course they were, he was the best player. It's just unfortunate that he got injured so much but I suspect no one would have been more gutted than him about that. And I don't think he was on anywhere near £50k

I'm glad he wanted to keep on playing; if he hadn't, we'd be a mid-table team now.

I'll be very surprised if Ramsey can do the majority of the season in Mexico, and by that I don't mean him resting for preservation in certain games, I'm thinking long lay outs, he's had one already a d it's only the beginning of September. Thing is, it's the club that gave him a contract, so that's not on Ramsey, Although there comes a time when players of a certain age with long term injury problems, need to take a bit of responsibility for their own fitness. When all is said and done, a player knows his body better than anyone else. Ramsey isn't just susceptible to injuries now, he has a problem that seems difficult to repair or manage. Personally, I think that he should have retired before he came to us.

            I admire your optimism.

Ramsey's 35 in December. He last started a game for us in mid-March. If we're being honest, he almost always looked way off the pace when he did play last season. It was sad to see.

He never looked sharp, for obvious reasons. If he was any other player (not Welsh or through the academy) he would have been getting slaughtered by the majority, especially with the playing career he had. Robbie Fowler probably contributed more than Ramsey did for us in the short time he was with us, he wasn't great, and he got loads of criticism.

The uncomfortable truth is the much-maligned Anwar El Ghazi contributed more last season than Ramsey did, but that doesn't really fit with the 'club legend' narrative.

I don't think anyones calling him a club legend. His best football was at other teams.

He's been called a club legend frequently.

I agree he didn't look right for us, but he looked bright and good when he played against Turkey for Wales. Very disappointing that Bellamy than decided to chuck him on in that monsoon in Montenegro

The reason I've not quite given up hope with Ramsey despite his injuries is because he wasn't the only one to disappear for large portions of the season with muscle injuries, it happened to several of our players and that can't be a coincidence. People seem to forget that the season before he joined us he made 34 appearances for Nice. Wales are also an injury away from calling up the likes of Oli Cooper, if he can stay fit (big if) then he's certainly a step up

That was in 2022/23, though. Time hasn't been kind to him since and it's unlikely to get any kinder.

Arguably the best player ever produced by Cardiff City, an example on, and off, the pitch too.

Exactly, and this is why he's considered a club legend, not sure why that's so hard to grasp. Birmingham retired Bellingham's shirt number for f**ks sakes and he played a similar amount of games for them as Ramsey did us

I'd forgot about that. Cringey ****ers.
