  • Now it's Isaak's turn...

I can't see that anyone else has posted that, following the report of Ronan Kpakio signing a new, extended contract, the club has seen the light and done the same for Isaak Davies:-

It will keep Isaak at the club until 2029 and I, for one, am really pleased about it. I think there's much more to come from him.

The club certainly seems to believe they've got to hold on to these boys

4 years is a long contract, they must have plans for him. I just checked and he's 24 in a couple of days, i thought he was only around 20.

He's quick and tough with a low centre of gravity.

Staying healthy is his only concern

I think hes a striker not a winger and I hope we see him central soon.

Yes, but what type of striker? He's off the shoulder, movement, short bursts, i can see why managers put him out wide allowing him to come inside. I can't remember any of his goals, but it would be interesting to see them all in reference to how he plays in the final third.

There's no way he's a striker in today's interpretation of the position, 25 years ago he'd have been brilliant playing as the little pacy one in a two man partnership. In today's game as a lone striker whose job is to make the ball stick, no chance. Even Salech has has had issues adapting to the attention from League 1 center backs and referees.

At best he'll be an option there when we are chasing the game and throwing men forward. He's a winger/inside forward/whatever you call it in today's game.

Has played 255 career games as a right winger and 67 as a striker according to Transfermarkt, a quick glance at the two he started as a striker in the Prem this year came alongside an out and out striker in Fullkrug, and West Ham lost 3-0 and 5-1.

Maybe I should have said he's never a striker in a system like BBM's instead of such a general statement, but I think it holds.

I think he’s arguably the best finisher at the club.

His first team goals contain examples of him getting accurate shots away while moving at pace. I can’t think of anyone else capable of doing that consistently in a squad which showed again on Saturday that its collective finishing technique is not very good.

I haven't previously noticed before this season but I've been impressed with his corner delivery too recently. Anyone else thought that?

I'm sure he played more centrally when on loan at Kortrijk and scored a decent couple of goals there. I could be remembering this wrong but when he played as a striker lots of the goals came through the middle where he could utilise his pace (quite a few high defensive lines in the games I watched in Belgium). I dont know how he would fair as a central striker in league 1, particularly as we seem to prefer to play it out wide when going forward. I do rate him though and agree he's one of the better finishers at the club. I'm glad he's signed a new contract

Yes. To be fair to Chambers he actually made some good runs towards the near post and put in some decent headers from Isaaks corners.
