I didn't venture too far into Dockland but one of the pubs I did frequent was the Quebec where they played a lot of jazz. Also recall a large black lady who was allegedly an African princess, being resident there.
    Such a shame that street, the pubs and loudon square was demolished. Imagine old pubs there now with the same music as years gone by. Instead they replaced most of it with the really bad houses, tower blocks and no pubs at all.

      Sunday afternnon in the Baltimore was a great time, I used to love it. Getting a taxi later a little more difficult as drivers wouldn't stop to pick us up. I can't imagine why.
      The Ship and Pilot could be fun too.

          The short-sightedness of planners, architects throughout the sixties - right up to today - is truly damning. These were run down but beautiful properties, which aren't given justice by black and white photography. For a glimpse of what they would have looked like one can do no worse than take a trip to Windsor Esplanade, down the docks [Bay]. One street that miraculously survived and it looks stunning..

            I put the alarm in the Packet in 1987 it was the last installation I did before I changed careers.
            I remember the chatter in their at the time about the "bloody Cardiff bay development corporation".
