  • Throw ins.

Something needs to change, the amount of time wasted by all sides is slowing the game down. In my opinion there should be a 10 yard (or even 5) rule similar to a corner.

Yesterday Bagan was taking up to a minute and then throwing the ball to Chambers to take the throw, this was regardless of whether we were winning or losing. The majority of teams do the same.

Often this season we have been too eager, usually ending up quickly giving the ball away.

There’s a fair few foul throws that go unpunished as well. Schoolboy stuff by some takers.

        Re: Throw ins.

our throw ins on Saturday were absolutely diabolical.
we had so many down the left that were thrown back by Bagan to Chambers who ended up going back to Trott more often than not.

we even had some throw ins in a good attacking position only to choose to take them 10 yards further back than we could have, to once again throw it back to chambers. we are the only side I've ever seen consistently look to cheat ourselves if 10 yards , it's usually the other direction

On the subject of time wasting the Reading keeper was at it in the 1st half nothing said to him.
We go 2-1 up and our first goal kick Trott changes sides to kick it from and gets booked.
The ref looked like a fat ref you had in Sunday football reffing from the centre circle because he couldn't keep up with play.

I said the same at the match, if trott does the same thing when we are losing he doesn't get a card, if he takes longer in the first half he doesn't get a card.

Always made me laugh when we used to take a minute for a long throw, if we were behind and the opponent took 10 seconds people go nuts and the ref would be hurrying him along.

I thought the Ref was one of the best we have had this season but the bar is set very low.

I s’pose we get the standard of refs in relation to the standard of football we now find ourselves in.

I think you will find, if you care to go back to August posts, that I’ve been saying that we are crap at throw-ins !

If you go back to August you were also one of the most vocal in being negative about Trott. That aged well.

How many goals has he cost us with his playting out from the back compared to how many hes saved us?

2 things that bug me in a game. Us continually losing possession from throw-ins, and not clearing the firs man at a corner. Grrrrrrr :furious::hehe:

Agree entirely. A couple of basic things we cannot get right. Would make us a much better team if we did.
Ps we could do with someone who could do a long throw. We really miss that attacking option.

Don’t recall being negative, I just asked if everyone’s heart was in their mouths, every time he had the ball at his feet !

That’s not negative, that’s being honest

You start a thread, after hes played just 2 games for us, asking how long before he gets caught, or one of our defenders scores an own goal becuase of him, but you werent being negative.

                            Ok, Tony, Ok.

And, (NSASWA), how many of our fans were thinking the same thing ?

I believe it’s happened once as well, or nearly !
