I've always advocated making the team as watertight as possible at the back and build from there. An example is the Stoke team (with Shawcross boo !!) who were extremely difficult to break down under Pulis and took that mindset with them when they got promoted to the PL.

We are way too cavalier in our approach, which is OK if your forwards are clinical and score for fun but they're not. Be a little bit more circumspect in our away games in particular for the remainder of the season. Time to find out if BBM really is a tactical genius.

Odd game really. Started off shaky, then proceeded to murder them for half hour and created loads but a mix of poor finishing and the keeper having a stormer and somehow it’s 0-0 at half time. On another day we score 1 or 2 first half and then control the game like we did at Wrexham and Burnley.

A tad naive after we go 1 down and very naive at 2 down, but it’s a young team and coach, just got to hope they learn from it.
          .

Heyho, the days of City losing spoiling my weekend are long gone.

Let the meltdown commence and I’m sure there will be one or two happy with the result as they are always more prominent on the message board after a loss. No names required.

At least Merthyr won for the 3rd time in 8 days and are in the play offs. The benefits of supporting two teams. Maybe Sludge had it right along supporting Cardiff and Liverpool.

proving it's going to be a shit league to get out of if we don't spend more than a tenner. Kellyman is not the answer.

28 attempts at goal, 11 on target, 9 blocked and 8 off target.

On another day we score 4 or 5.

An improvement on no shots on target at Bolton I suppose.

Bradford, Burton, Bolton and now Blackpool....how the Hell did we beat Burnley?

Barnsley promises to be an interesting game!

It is harsh, but people are going to say it i suppose. The biggest problem in my opinion is a lack of quality in the final third, the business end, the area where good players show how good they are, and why they're different to the rest. It's all well and good showing up in the middle of the pitch, but when the pressure is on and the screw is being tightened then we lack quality individually and collectively in my opinion. Players doing the right things but without the quality, which makes me think that when it does come off it's more about volume than ability, but who knows..... Switching off at the back is a problem as well. Concentration and awareness are lacking on times, and we get punished, and that's at this level, so players made need to shape up a bit. Apart from that, i'm still confident of a promotion, this division is dog awful and we will have enough in my opinion.

Someone has already said it. We are lacking in quality and paying the price.

There's not a manager who isn't worth his salt who doesn't make defence the 1st priority, but let's face facts - BBM's managerial experience is a 26% win ratio with a league 2 side. He doesn't seem to have been a tactical genius at Rochdale.
