Barry Bannan?

Just had a heads up that we were looking to sign Barry Bannan. Anyone heard anything, or has this come from one of those other, less-credible, CCFC fansites?

Think it's been mentioned on here in the past. Bannan and Reach would have been good acquisitions a couple of seasons ago, not sure about them now. I wouldn't want Rhodes - remember Ricky Lambert?

Bannan tore us to shreds in the last game against us. Absolutely ran the show.
Worry is his age and consistency though.

Going by some of the replies a player who’s represented a club that’s suffered relegation should never be considered as a signing for a club who play in the division his club has just departed or, God forbid, a club playing at an even higher level, bit ridiculous really.

He's a decent player.. great technique and uses the ball well but a little slow and not as dynamic as he once was. When you consider who else in that position is available I would be a bit disappointed if we ended up with him.

Not too old at all.Some on here wanted to give a new contract to Sol Bamba and he is 36. Bannen is a player of genuine quality and a fantastic passer of the ball if we signed him it would be a sign that we are genuinely going for the top six next season.It sounds counter intuitive signing players from a team that he's been relegated but I would be happy if we signed Windlass and Reach too.
