As the egg is taking place on Saturday I'm imagining queues after the games extending outside the railway station as people get herded onto their trains for their journeys home by means of wending hither and thither between temporary barriers artfully decorating a route to the ticket barriers on the concourse - but can that queue be cirmunvented by simply alighting a train at Grangetown and changing platforms on arrival at Cardiff General? Or has that particular avenue to pleasure been cordoned orf somehow?

Re: Cardiff General Station question
Going from Grangetown should work, we had the same problem last year when my brother in law had to get a train to Manchester at the same time as the egg finished, he avoided all the queues and just had to swop platforms at central.
