  • Robin Smith.

Dead at 62 (thought he was younger than that). I can remember seeing something about him having problems with the transition from his playing days.

I知 not sure anyone has hit the ball harder than he did with his square cut.

    RIP

    Sad news.

Yeah awesome square cut. A brave brilliant batsman against fast bowling.

Such sad news. Played the West Indian quickies as well as anyone, when they were the number 1 side in the world. Had a pint with him over in Cwmbran a good few years ago, and he was excellent company and very humble. R.I.P The Judge.

I read something about him the other day mentioning his mental health issues. Very sad to hear of his passing.

I remember being told about him when he was in the Hampshire 2nds and went over to Sophia Gardens to watch him and you could see he was too good for that level and would be in the firsts and beyond in no time

I think I知 right in saying his elder brother Chris played a game or two for Glamorgan.

Yes,he played one match v Sti Lanka, because at the time he was classed as an overseas player and couldn't play ounty championship games.

Because of this, he moved to Hampshire, but then he was reclassified as English!

If this had happened earlier, he would have stayed with Glamorgan so possibly Robin Smith would have joined him at Glamorgan instead!
