  • Dick Van Dyke.

100 years old today. I must have been seven or eight when I first watched The Dick Van Dyke Show - think his wife on that show, Mary Tyler Moore, was one of my first schoolboy crushes.

Forever remembered for his uncannily accurate cockney accent in Mary Poppins.

For which, to his credit, he apologised in 2017

Dick Van Dyke said sorry for his "atrocious" British accent in Mary Poppins, but has there been worse?

Also, as Paul and I are of a similar vintage, I echo his opinion of Mary Tyler Moore. I remember her very well as DVD's husband

One of the first films I remember seeing at the pictures. And the first film I ever saw twice. I saw it at the Theatre Royal and the Tivoli. Now Barry doesn't even have a cinema.
