I don't think they liked each other and I could easily see the roles being reversed if Mr Orange Man Bad had vacated the planet. I've never been a fan of fake platitudes anyway, so better to say it how it is. As far as I know Reiner consistently called out Trump as an incapable fascist moron ('saying it how it is', I think you said) but had the basic human decency to condemn violence , political or otherwise. Not saying he was a saint but we don't seem to be playing Olympic level limbo here.
Any other 'what about' events you can think of ? Ideally ones that put more made-up words in dead people's mouths please.

Rob Reiner was an actor and a director. His only power was that what he said would get press coverage. He never made policy to hurt people, make them poorer, break relationships with allies, vociferously support and court killers and dictators, he didn't publicly humiliate women, or other celebrities, murder people indiscriminately, he wasn't a racist, he didn't foment hatred, he wasn't a xenophobe, he didn't take people's healthcare away out of spite. In short, no one is dead because of Rob Reiner.
