For those interested in the Scottish leagues why has the arse fallen out of the league?

The old firm used to be a massive deal. People couldn’t care less anymore

People in Scotland care. People in Ireland care. It was televised nationally here too.

It's got to be Ange. Perfect fit for them. Proven winner there.

It hasn't. Hearts are doing well, which is great. Crowds are up at many clubs, the fan culture is great, the national team have just qualified for the world cup, three teams in the group stages of Europe this year (two sank without trace admittedly).

The fact that the old firm aren't running away with it is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Also the little fact that the Scots can draw on big enough crowds to sustain there game. We can’t, we have to keep clinging on to the apron strings of the English set up.

The Scottish 4th tier averages bigger crowds than the Cymru Premier. Celtic alone get bigger crowds than Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham, Newport and all 12 Cymru Premier teams combined.

Even if you remove the Old Firm, Welsh domestic football is many decades behind Scotland.

Ireland is a nation to look towards when it comes to improving the domestic game. They’ve come in leaps and bounds over the last 10-20 years.

Yeah, both north and south. The Republics league has made remarkable strides forward. From something comparable to the Welsh League to something more like Sweden or Norway. Their cup final gets 30-40,000 now.

The North has made slower progress, but it's a different world to Wales. Linfield v Glentoran got 10,000 over Christmas

The Dinosaur is the obvious choice, at least until the end of the season. XG not a factor.
