One aspect of BBM that impresses me is that he is not afraid to make tactical substitutions at any time and seems to keep the players on board. The 2 obvious examples are subbing Mafico in the carabao cup on 30 mins and again Robertson at Wycombe on 30 minutes with no obvious injury ( he then started today ). In both cases the layers had picked up yellows and then made a couple of dodgy challenges. Rather than waiting for a game changing red he pulled them off before that scenario. I have noticed less extreme examples in the second half of games where the subbed played is often already on one yellow - clever game management and hopefully minimalising red cards to one bad challenge.

Re: Tactical subs
Lawlor was limping prior to the substitution.Originally posted by SOXY BOY View PostI don’t understand why he tool Lawlor off today and brought Fish on, when the game was only 1-0. I think Fish is a quality player but that’s a bit risky when the game was tight, score wise.

Re: Tactical subs
Fish is maybe more dangerous in the air from set pieces, we were getting a lot of corners….to no avail though.Originally posted by SOXY BOY View PostI don’t understand why he tool Lawlor off today and brought Fish on, when the game was only 1-0.
