    For anyone interested

Cardiff City have impressed in League One this season, with their performances forming a clear attacking identity.

interesting, but I'd have liked them to try to address why we give up so many big chances for a team at the top end of the division, and they don't really go into that.

It's this thing called poor defending.

I would like to see us add more of a scoring threat from set pieces.

We had something like 18 corners on Sunday. Some of those were decent delivery, but we seem to lack a dominant centre half really attacking the ball.

IÂ’m not saying our players donÂ’t attack the ball, what I mean is, most of our set pieces seem to be easily dealt with, as we lack a player that has built up a reputation for regularly scoring such goals, or even one capable of creating a panic in the oppositions defence.

I think it is fair comment to expect some kind of return from 18 corners

Re: Article from Lower Tiers about our attacking identity

Here's one to be on. People talking about how we concede chances to the opposition. It's a fair question to ask, but I get a little bemused by it, especially when the people who ask the question are probably witnessing these chances for the opposition in real time. So ask yourselves the question, is it mostly down to individual error, poor judgement, lack of concentration etc? Without really knowing, because I haven't seen many games this season, I would put money on all of those things.

Thing is, for all of the very good stuff we are doing, and there's a lot of it, we still have players who will make errors or lose concentration, that's one of the biggest reasons they're playing at this level, so it's no shock really. If we add to that Barry Murphy's inclination to push and leave space behind to exploit, then it can look a whole lot worse if you combine individual error with space conceded. Barry Murphy can't really legislate for the individual mistakes, he isn't banking on them and he wouldn't throw in a contingency plan I. Order to counter them, that would be completely detrimental to the fantastic work he has done and would see us playing in a very different way.

Many comments about our defensive frailties.

But on this podcast https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mR10czo8sso when they talk about Cardiff City from about 3 mins in, IÂ’m sure the guy says that we have had less than ten shots against us in the last 4 games.

One thing struck me on Saturday, after a corner Wigan broke quickly,we had three men cutting it off just after the half way, it was a real contrast to the times I’d seen us concede in that way a few years ago.

Was there only one Wigan player carrying out the break? :hehe:

Yeah, and a guy came on with a magic sponge to sort out his nose bleed, having almost crossed the halfway line. 😀

                            They really were that negative.

We have R Colwill injured he would have made a difference over the last few weeks when teams come with a 10-0-0 set up.

I do wonder how many goals Keiffer Moore would score if he had replaced Salech at the start of the season. I think he'd score shedloads in this team in this division.
