  • Olden Days Videos

Might have been posted before but here's an entertaining channel with loads of old City matches.

Here's one for Chris Pike fans from 91. But (spoiler) a lot of games available are not so positive. Can anyone tell me who the excitable commentator (not Richard) was?

It was in the 90s that I got told off by a family member for using the word “coloured” - it should be “black” I was told. What the commentator said would have been considered woke thirty five years ago if the term had existed then.

That’s a great site, I think you could probably spend two or three hours watching highlights from virtually every game we played in 91/92 if you were so minded.

        Ahem! Guilty as charged.

Very interesting for all sorts of reasons. I'd sort of forgotten what 3000 fans looked like. In one comment under one of the vids someone remarked that Greavsie reckoned City used crowd noises on tape. Cheeky beggar but you could see what he was on about.

I can tell you the commentator (v. Wrexham) is my late friend John Crooks who wrote several books on the City.
He was doing commentary on the videos of the games you could buy at the time.

I’m a little bit insulted by the ‘olden days’ tag, it’s all about a fortnight ago to me:old:

Recently converted some VHS tapes from the olden days. First two were (I think) compiled by a fanzine and the standard is quite shoddy but the history one is a "proper" buy-from-WHSmith production.

                91/92 NP goals

                91/92 away goals
