A national organisation using both languages is different, you know that, but I'd have no issue with Cardiff City using more Welsh.

You know that most fans don't call the team Cymru.

And yeah I wouldn't object to more Welsh at CCFC, jn the programme etc, not but a specific corporate marketing campaign to refer to us as something different to what we know the team we follow as. You know it's marketing and politics at play.

I'm a Welsh speaker and I love the fact that we've got our own language but I actually disagree with you here. I find jamming the word Cymru into the middle of English communications jarring whenever it happens. I'm all for using more Welsh around the national team but I've always found the Cymru thing a bit off.

Also the timing of it was a bit odd, not long after Gareth Bale and 2016 put Wales on the football map we changed the name of the team.

I think I might be in the minority of Welsh speakers who feel this way though

I don't know why anyone Welsh would have an issue with this. You're free to keep using using Wales (translation foreigner in old English) no one is stopping you.

It's not what most fans refer to the team as. It's concerned more with making a brand and itappiny into some nationalist rhetoric that not everyone is comfortable with.

It just feels forced and gaslighting.

No different to it we got a new owner who kept calling us Clwb Pel Droed Dinas Caerdydd.

That is quite catchy. lol!
