I've thought about this for a while and maybe many will say I'm wrong to suggest it but how about ref issues a red card every time a shirt is grabbed? It could eradicate the problem.

I think it needs something radical. For me, the two things that the authorities should try to eradicate completely are shirt-pulling and dissent. I honestly don't know what the best course of action would be in either case, but both things are seriously detrimental to the game in my opinion.

I agree with your assessment of the Salech situation. At the time I felt certain there was no foul, the Stockport player won the ball fairly and they both landed awkwardly. From the grainy replay on the other thread, Salech actually appears to jump across Hills while the defender is already off the ground. It's noticeable that none of the City players claimed a foul at the time. I don't think there was anything deliberate about this at all.

I'll no doubt get slated by some for saying this, but I thought Hills looked quite decent. He's only 21 but already has 90 first team appearances under his belt. He looked to me like someone who'll be playing in the Championship fairly soon.

A quick word about Salech - he really should have buried that chance early in the first half. The weight on the cross from Wintle was pretty much perfect, Salech was unmarked and in a great position. His header straight at the keeper was feeble under the circumstances.

Can't agree with your suggestion that Tanner's 'assist' was a good pass. It was actually behind Colwill. The midfielder did brilliantly to collect the pass, turn and shoot so rapidly. I would give him all the credit. Great footwork.

Am I allowed to say I enjoyed yesterday's game? Not sure given some of the hysterical reactions to it. I thought it was the most entertaining encounter we've seen at the CCS since the victory over Doncaster - a proper contest from start to finish and, while City weren't at their best, there was some decent football from both sides at various points in the game.

I liked the fact that the City players were prepared to stand up to such a stern physical challenge. I'm pretty sure a number of the very same players would have folded under that sort of pressure this time last year.

Yes, I thought Hills was one of Stockport’s best players. Not sure he’s good enough for a Championship team that wanted to play out from the back, but I’d say that based on the little I’ve seen of him his defending is good enough for the Championship.

You expect blogs to be biased towards the team the writer supports- mine are and the good Bradford one posted last week was, but it was fair and I like to think mine usually are. That was completely one eyed though and I won’t bother reading it again if we end up playing Stockport again next season.

they are of the opinion that the ref gave everything to us. We are of the opinion he was also shite, the game was stop/start. The ref was awful.

I don’t think so, he was around the penalty spot and I reckon it’s hard to beat a goalkeeper with a header from that sort of position if the keeper does not come for the cross. If the cross has plenty of pace on it then that gives the striker a better chance, but I thought it was the sort of chance that goes in about five times out of ten.

Salech only had to pick his spot down to either side of the keeper. it was a bad miss.

If Sin Bins were introduced, shirt pulling, time wasting, holding could all be 5 minute penalties and would rid the game of much that is bad

Maybe it is time to bring in skin-tight latex shirts?
On second thoughts - imagine some of our fans in replicas looking like blue michelin men!!
