Sorry Bob, but question N is really puzzling me. Are you sure it’s worded correctly? You say that 37.5% of players with this surname have played for Cardiff, which would suggest 3 players out of a total of 8. The only surnames I can find on the Cardiff Wikipedia players list that might fit are Evans, Jones, and Williams — but these are very common names, so there must surely be far more than 8 players with them who have played in the league.

      It’s a surname beginning with N.

Ben Nugent, Kevin Nugent, Cliff Nugent, but could only find another Nugent called David and a Stephen who made a few appearances for wigan cant find another two to make 8, thereby being 37-5%

Yes. It is Nugent and you’ve got the three ex City players. I Googled “how many football players have had the surname Nugent?” and it brought back eight.

Sorry Cyril, I don’t understand your second sentence.

Senior moment. I mistook the L for an I, hence the 2nd I

I thought the answer was goalkeeper Barry Murphy. Popular name in these parts!

I thought that, but I couldn't work out where the G comes in. I must have been overthinking it because I worked out that the clue gave me the letters 'Royal in IE', so no G.

Given that I have twice called Brian Murphy, Barry in this thread I don't think I am in any position to criticise! :hehe:
