I can't work out what this is, but I'm assuming something to do with finalists in major tournaments, as I Know Yugoslavia were runners up in the Euros twice.

I'll guess Spain.
Has to be World Cup with twa S American countries.
Try
Hungary.
New World Cup finalists in chronological order.
I'm currently schlepping around a non-European country whose heaviest-ever defeat was against Hungary. The result was 9-2.
P.S. I just passed the old national stadium five minutes ago.
Well and truly stumped. I’m convinced it’s something to do with the WC but I know Yugoslavia never got to a final. So how do they fit in?!!! I’ll keep thinking………
On the miniscule chance anyone's still interested - the answer is that this is the progression of which nation has scored the most total goals in world cup history.
France, Yugoslavia and Argentina were all in the 1930 tournament
then italy in 1938 before Brazil took over.
Germany briefly had scored the most after the 2014 world cup - but it's back to Brazil now.
A follow up question was going to be during which tournament did England pass Hungary's total number of goals scored - and surprisingly (well I thought so) the answer is 2018
