  • Parking recommendations

Me and my old man will be driving to tomorrows game so need some advice where’s best to park. My dad has some mobility issues (blue badge holder) so would near somewhere relatively close to the ground.

The ticket office said I can’t book a disabled space at the ground, but presume it’s a nightmare getting out of the car park after the game anyway?

    Any other suggestions?

If you go the casino in the retail park and punch your car details in there you can park for the game - depending on the crowd it might be a while to get out but the casino will still be open if you want to have a short wait

I see lots of people with blue badges park in Hadfield road which is probably a 10 minute walk to the ground ?

    Others may have better suggestions

How bad are his mobility issues?
I'm also a blue badge holder, we normally park by the casino in the retail park (log car reg inside door so you don't get parking fees) or the shoppers car park in Canton, down a little road opposite the Ivor Davies, It's pay and display, but free if you display a blue badge.

Bit of a step in either case, and it is hell getting out of the retail park after the game.

Thanks folks. Casino might be the best option even if it takes an age to get out.

Do you need to speak to anyone in the casino to enter your reg number? Or is it just a self serve type thing??

Remember that in Cardiff, Blue Badge holders can park in designated resident parking areas. Plenty do park in Broad Street and the side roads displaying their badge without any problems.
Basically, the closer to the ground you park, the more traffic there'll be after the game.

You can generally park at the stadium for a tenner. I have a car park season ticket but when i drive in there's always someone paying cash.

You can park behind the ninian stand (so near Gate 5). There's always a delay getting out. We don't rush, use the 20 mins or so to check results and reflect on the game etc.

Website says car park closes 1 hour before kick off but these games are far from sold out so you can get in 30 mins before.

Same delays in exiting as parking by the casino but it might be worth the £10 to be parked a few yards from the entrance.

No it's just a machine in the foyer as you walk in

It's a self serve screen like they have in pubs. The casino is open for over 18's to use. So you could get a drink there as well. No membership required. Lot's of TV's showing sport.

You can park in the Asda carpark, but it can take a while to get out. I don’t mind if it’s cold or wet, as I’ve can listen to the radio with the heater on.

don't you get a parking ticket if you park there?

Obviously you are talking about parking, but if you are going to park in local streets you may also want to consider the train to Ninian Park and parking in a station to the north.

It can be busy after the game though, so night games possibly not as good.

My Dad is disabled, I think the club could do more really, and not allowing some fans to book disabled parking has annoyed me in the past - I've wheeled my dad in a wheelchair from Bessemer Road and you don't notice a poorly maintained pavement until you've done that!

                        Yes you can
. I think there's a 2 hour limit - not enough to get to the game and ot again, hence we check in at the casino. You get a drink in a proper glass glass, not the plastic crap the pubs have to use on match days.
