Well, I wonder how many other Cardiff City supporters watched Sheffield Wednesday getting relegated and thought it could have been us?
I mean, we did finish bottom of the table and did get relegated to League One just like Wednesday, but as you're a huge fan of our glorious leader, I'm guessing you're talking about their off-field situation.
Wednesday had a wealthy Southeast Asian businessman owning the club who treated the supporters with contempt, so I guess it could indeed have been us.
There may be no exact match for why it "could have been us" but any fan or a football club who doesn't recognise that what's happened there could have happened or could happen at their own club is pretty naive.
There's nothing exceptional about Sheffield Wednesday to mean it couldn't happen elsewhere. Ergo, it "could have been us". Still could!
Of course it could have been us. We’re a professional football club. Equally likely, Brentford, Bournemouth or Brighton could have been us. But I guess we shouldn’t think like that. Instead, we should just be grateful we’re not Sheffield Wednesday. It’s the Cardiff way.

I agree with you. I think we could have stayed up in the prem the second time, and who knows where we would be now.

Easily be us, Tan is still “allegedly” paying out £300,000 a month to cover the costs at the club, despite getting rid of 17 players and slashing everyone’s wages in half. Can only assume most of it is down to his usual inept mgt, paying off interest on loans to Dalman and the wages of countless useless managers he’s employed over the years…...I guess we should be so thankful he is actually paying for his ineptitude else we could be another sheff weds!

I don’t recall Brentford, Bournemouth or Brighton being subject to a winding up order in recent history but I’m not totally familiar with their clubs.

Harry Redknapp did the three card trick on the south coast, Portsmouth, Southampton & Bournemouth all put in administration around his time, ok Bournemouth was a few years later but he did the ‘warming up’ as one fan put it. We all remember Brighton at the Withdean, they were hardly on millionaires row then. Brentford in the early 2000s relying on the fans organisation, Bees United, to keep them in float while drowning in debt.
