Salech was injured on 24th January and initially it wasn't believed the problem was serious enough to keep him out for long.

I suspect the club did attempt to bring in some sort of back-up, but it didn't work out.

If only it was that easy. I’d rather play with a false nine than bring in an ineffective striker. We could have kept Etete if that’s what we wanted.

Given our record of strikers you're right. I also don't think we have fared too badly without Salech, obviously having our top scorer would be beneficial but I don't think overall we have struggled with goals.

We also have Robinson on the bench who I think gets into most teams at this level and he has hardly had a look in as it is.

Even before he was injured I and many others were staying we needed a suitable understudy for him
