I thought 147 was the maximum. Just read a couple of articles and still don't get it but one said he was 2 points off the absolute maximum of 155.

Opponent fouled so he has the choice of a free ball which he took (counts as a red) and then potted the black and the break started

Makes sense cheers. I was going to ask how then you get 155 but it dawned on me he obviously didn't always get on the black.
