Match stats comparison

While watching the league cup final on Sunday, Man City v Arsenal, I couldn’t help thinking to myself that it was a bit like City v Blackpool the previous day.

I am not talking about ability or skill, what I mean is… one team with 11 men behind the ball and one team trying to break it down.

There are better posters than me for putting up stats, but just for fun and discussion, I just wonder how the match stats compare between our game and the game yesterday?

You can see similar patterns of play, they can obviously move it far quicker beyond the obvious skill gap but you can see the influence the set up had on BBM.

Funnily enough they have recently drawn to 3 of the bottom 5.

Talking about moving it quicker, I feel that when teams have come play defensively against us, one thing I would like to see is when the opposition finally commit men forward for a corner or free kick, I would like to see us counter attack a lot quicker and take advantage of those rare moments.
