  • And some people want Tan out!

BBC Sport takes a look at if the second tier could be facing a "doomsday scenario" as club accounts reveal the significant scale of their losses.

He’s made a good few mistakes in the appointment of managers, but where would City be without him?

"A total of £3bn and counting. That is how much Championship clubs have lost in the past 10 years"

You realise we're part of that?

Edit: Sorry probably misunderstood what you meant.

I don't know, for the losses we have had I do feel we could have done better.

It seems normal these days, as atrociously as wednesday have been run they will probably get to reset in league 1 and come back. I'm not sure we should be overly thankful given our level of debt and now being in league 1.

The blatant irony is that the 'riches' of Sky etc have seen clubs going from break-even/small losses to hundreds of £millions in debt. I wonder if the penny has dropped.

If all the top clubs worldwide stopped paying salaries which players and their next 5 generations couldn’t spend it all, then the tv money would trickle through. They are all chasing a fictitious pile of gold they blow more on players than it’s worth to reach it. Madness!

What would happen if all the TV companies said to the various leagues we are not paying you until you lower your demands. No tv for a year would rebalance the greed

Club owners are like moths drawn to the glittering neon light in the chip shop.

Fans are on the sidelines watching this mess, waiting for the inevitable outcome for their club.

So few clubs seemingly make any money, why do they bother? I doubt there are many championship clubs with debts as big as ours? Basing it on the fact that’s where we spent most of our time accruing it. It’s great Tan has so much cash, we should be very grateful to him for running the club so badly over the years

Re: And some people want Tan out!

Rules need to be brought in so clubs can't spend more than their income on first team salaries, key personnel and day to day running of the club. Any financial input from owners must be in the form of gifts which do not accrue interest or can be paid back and this input can only be spent on youth football and infrastructure improvements.

I'm sure a few can read but I agree with them being idiots. They criticise the club and VT at every opportunity

Fans are fickle. They want all the glamour that comes with high price tag signings and don’t care of the consequences.

Tan defenders could be convinced to eat pig feed from a trough if the club said to do it.
