I didn't realise Osho got a three game ban!

Cardiff City are facing a centre-back shortage for next weekend's League One match against promotion rivals Bolton Wanderers.

Bluebirds captain Calum Chambers was taken off at half-time during Monday's 1-1 draw at Peterborough United with a wrist injury.

Cardiff were already without Dylan Lawlor due to a toe injury sustained playing for Wales, while Gabriel Osho was serving the second game of a three-match suspension for the red card he was shown against Wycombe Wanderers last month.

The full extent of Chambers' injury is not yet known, but head coach Brian Barry-Murphy said: "He damaged that quite badly. We'll have to get that scanned and there might be an issue there.

"We're a bit stretched in that area with Dylan injured as well. Perry [Ng, usually a right-back] did a great job stepping in.

"With Gabriel Osho suspended and Dylan and Calum injured, we're quite stretched there."

Lawlor's injury is not thought to be serious, with Barry-Murphy adding: "There's no fracture but he's been in discomfort and there's a bit of swelling, so he wasn't really close [to playing] today."

Cardiff are second in League One but have won only two of their past eight matches, cutting the gap between them and the chasing pack outside the automatic promotion places from 11 points to seven.

However, they have a game in hand over Bradford City and Bolton in third and fourth place respectively, prior to Wanderers' visit to Cardiff next Saturday (12:30 BST).

I’d go Bagan into the middle with Scanlon LB. Better than Kapakio/NG switch…

Winter wasn’t bad at CH for the second half the other week either

Apart from being at fault for both goals Wintle was fine at Centre Half.

        Re: Defensiive injuries / suspensions

        Lawlor will play alongside Fish

Chambers will be on bench if needed

He carried n playing for 15 minutes after the knock and came off as a precaution

If Ng runs out at Centre half with Kpakio at Right Back.... well it won't happen so no point prevaricating about it

I can’t for the life of me understand how football fans still don’t know the laws of the game when it comes to red cards.

I think you mean Wintie, not Winter

After Monday’s display, I ‘d use Kpakio only in a dire emergency.

It was about sixty years ago that I first heard locally produced teenage young players being slagged off by Cardiff fans (John Toshack in this case), Leighton Phillips followed, Paul Bodin was another one and then there was Andy Gorman. Josh Low was a bit different, but was a young player making his way in the game when the boo boys were at him.

To be fair, the Ramsey, Gunter, Ledley group were treated well by City fans while playing for us and then it all went quiet for a decade or more because we weren't producing our own first team players, but now that we are, it 's the youngest one out of the lot who's getting it in the neck.

I'm not sure if Kpakio has turned 19 yet, but in his first season as a regular member of the senior squad he started off so well that he was being nominated in League One teams of the year for the opening half of the season. Since then though, he's dropped out iof contention as a regular starter and, when he has been able to get on the pitch, he's often had to play out of position.

Kpakio recently started against Lincoln - he wasn't great, but in a team which has been accused by some of bottling it on the big occasion, he was one of our better players for me. Granted, he fell some way below that standard on Monday, but his performances this season don't deserve the social media mauling he's had since then.

He loses possession far too much and contributes to City's Achilles Heel i.e. being caught on the break when we are fannyng about passing from wing to wing in slow fashion , which allows the opposition to crowd their defence, gain possession and attack at a speed that we seem largely incapable of.
I wouldn't wish to hound a young player but he doesn't seem to assess risk very well at all.

Top post and some of the reaction to him is way over the top - hopefully the younger players are advised to steer away from message boards 👍 just hope everyone slagging him off were perfect in their jobs when they were 18/19

                          Yes.

He's still second in assists for us too. He hasn't looked as confident as at the start of the season but as a breakthrough season goes, he has contributed far more than some of the ridiculous comments I've seen would have you believe.

They'll target him every game he plays now as well (if he plays, which I doubt), but in fairness to him, the two wingers were rapid and a right handful.
