  • FT: READING 1-3 CARDIFF CITY. PROMOTED

    Saturday 18th April, ko 3:00pm

    Match Officials:

    Referee: MATT CORLETT
Assistants: Jack Clench and Ross Murphy
    Fourth Official: Isaac Searle

2700 in a sold out away end. More in hospitality and no doubt a few in the home end as well.

Matches before City kick off on Saturday.

    Wed 15th April
    19.45 AFC Wimbledon v Stockport

    Sat 18th April
    12.30 Barnsley v Bradford
    12.30 Bolton v Huddersfield

And also at 3pm on Saturday

    Exeter v Stockport

A case of when, not if.

Depending on the other matches Cardiff could win on Saturday and still not be mathematically confirmed as promoted. At the same time, depending on results, they could lose and go up.

While I always want City to win, part of me has a little hope that we don't clinch that "officially promoted" status until our home game next week.

Some tired legs towards the end, i'd expect a fair few changes, Joel C one of those to start.

Maybe Salech to start and come off around 60.

An anonymous Reading player has criticised manager Leam Richardson in the local press. Not too good for dressing room cohesion.

Judging by BBMs comments last night Lawlor won't play. MF I think Turnbull comes in as well as Colwill J. Up top Tanner needs a day off. Could well see Ashford, if fit and Kellyman in the wide areas. Salech still looked a bit careful to me. Not sure if he starts.

Auto promotion would be a good birthday present.

Don't think he even has that bad a record there.

His record is OK but the football has been the worst I can ever recall. Several clubs have referred to us as the worst club they have seen play at their ground in a long time. He has been well backed with a decent sized squad but appears clueless

Fair enough then, you will know far more about it.

I do love the "worst team we have seen" line though, I've seen it said about us almost every season.

What's your prediction for the weekend?

I can see a 2-1 defeat. Cardiff never do it easy unless it's relegation and with BBM's credit all used up it's going to a turbulent end to the seaon

1-2. Our season is done. Richardson may well be gone by then. You should win this one.
