Plenty of Everton fans were bemused with the club letting him go. Will be interesting to see if Trott now plays any of the three remaining games.

Good luck to him, although I doubt he’ll find a manager that allows him to play the way BBM does… unless they’re both at Celtic next season

      Disappointing if true.

Not sure this is any different to the Wintle/Bagan/Ng stuff.

We've only just been promoted and conversations are ongoing. I'm sure agents would love to drive the price up of course.

Not sure if its genuine or used by agents to drive up the price. If true let's see either Turner or Tyrer in goals for the last 3 games as that'll tell us something.

I don’t think “provisionally” saying no to something means they’ve turned it down flat does it?

                Re: Trott Says No

I would have thought it's a negotiation, as he's in a strong position.

He's had a good season, increased his value as a player, the club have also been promoted with him playing most of the games, and so I wouldn't blame him nor his agent for looking to capitalise on that. Cardiff have gone up with a good young manager playing attractive football, but we're not exactly Man City.

Would be great to keep him but if he wants to move on, so be it.

                  Re: Trott Says No

Sounds like fun and games by the agent (which is of course their prerogative), but I think the club have covered themselves quite well by signing Harry Tyrer in January (who, as I mentioned in the other Trott thread, comes highly regarded).

So I don't think we need to be held to ransom here. If he wants to play for the club and the manager, then great. If he's just holding out for as much money as he can, that's fine and he's earned it, but good luck to him elsewhere.

No 'translate from Danish' option at the top of the post? It worked fine for me.

                    Translated from Danish

Nathan Trott has provisionally rejected the offers from Cardiff City, who hold a valid purchase option on him following the weekend's promotion to the Championship. The English goalkeeper will look at his options after a successful season and is open to a return to FC Copenhagen.

This was always likely to be a deal that was finalised in the latter part of the transfer window than early on to maximise the chances of getting better wages elsewhere. I suspect other clubs may also be able to negotiate a lower fee the closer we get to August. The question is whether City are prepared to wait until then or go out and get someone else.

Agents job is to get their player the best possible deal…..they aren’t fans like us, unfortunately.

I'd be amazed if Tyrer is our number 1 next season
