While it was pissing down on Tuesday afternoon, the weather forecast on the BBC website was showing less than 10% chance of rain in the next hour.

The Met Office is great at giving retrospective "forecasts". They can happily tell us what the weather has been like but otherwise they are unreliable. I live a few miles from the Met Office yet often find when it is pouring with rain the forecast is sunny. Useless.

What I ‘like’ is how you can read the forecast for a day (bbc or met office or whatever) which says one thing but if you check it again the next day, on the same platform, it says something totally different. They really haven't got a clue and are getting paid large sums of money for making it up as they go along.

What I ‘like’ is how you can read the forecast for a day (bbc or met office or whatever) which says one thing but if you check it again the next day, on the same platform, it says something totally different. They really haven't got a clue and are getting paid large sums of money for making it up as they go along.

Isnt that because as you get closer to the day then they can be more confident of providing an more accurate forecast. Due to the changeable nature of uk weather, it is notoriously difficult to predict with any degrees of accuracy over a longer period of time.

BBC weather hasn't been as good since they stopped using the met office

So what’s the point if them existing? Anyone can predict the weather when the day actually arrives 😂
