I read earlier that Billy Sharp's hat-trick for Doncaster Rovers at Peterborough yesterday means he's now scored EFL hat-tricks during his teens, twenties, thirties and forties. What a record!

Amazing record. Amazing player.
Recognising that his hat tricks are more important but I wonder whether he's got a similar record of scoring against us? He was always one of those whose name on the team sheet drew immediate groans "he's bound to score, he always does against us"

In fact, in 16 appearances against Cardiff City (several as a sub), Bill Sharp only scored twice - once for Nottingham Forest in 2012 and once for Sheffield United in 2021.

Sharp has scored five EFL hat-tricks. His age on each occasion was as follows:

19 on 16/04/2005
22 on 16/08/2008
32 on 27/10/2018
33 on 08/02/2019
40 on 02/05/2026

I will add Barry Bannon to the pre game, immediate groan / he is going to score against us list.

A great scoring feat, but not a patch on Earnie scoring hat tricks in all 4 English divisions, FA cup, League cup and an International.
