The food & drink area was much too packed, was on a split level, it was dangerous. DidnÂ’t feel comfortable at all.
TBF I've only been to the Villa stadium on one occasion, Hospitality Job to watch England, it's not the modern bowl type stadium which has been the way for a few decades although there does seem a little breakaway from this currently.

I'm sure I read they are rebuilding that stand quite soon.

I think the North Stand (where we were in the last cup game) is closed for the whole of next season as it's re-developed

Actually, Villa announced this a couple of weeks agho

Aston Villa Football Club is today announcing an accelerated timeline for the major North Stand redevelopment at Villa Park. This will mean the stand is closed for the entirety of the 2026/27 season, but will ensure a significantly enhanced facility is delivered sooner than originally planned.

The temporary closure of the North Stand will require the relocation of affected season ticket holders for the 2026/27 season. The Club recognises the impact this will have on supporters, and will offer those affected the opportunity to renew their GA ticket in an alternative area of Villa Park at the same price level. Affected supporters will also get priority access to return to the redeveloped North Stand for the 2027/28 season. Further information will be shared directly with impacted supporters in due course.

Villa are actually trying tonight after their disgraceful showing on Sunday and have just leveled the tie through Watkins after a brilliant run by Buendia.

Really trying, what a player to have in your team, John McGinn.

Think it was telling that he wasn’t playing on Sunday, he wouldn’t have tolerated such a lack of effort from the team.

Several decades ago my next-door neighbour was a Toon fan and I joined him to watch his team play away at Villa Park, where I was introduced to a comestible that was previously unknown to me i.e. Balti Pie.

However, I have to confess that I declined a similar opportunity earlier this season at Accrington Stanley in that I forwent the Butter Pie. When I asked what was in it, the lady behind the counter said that it was like a meat pie but without the meat, a less than seductive proposition.

Had to Google it, basically potatoes and onion, vegetarian friendly. Looks quite nice if done right. Surprised they don't have them at FGR.

Meanwhile Brennan Johnson is set to play in his 2nd European final in 2 seasons. Difference clubs and different competitions.

And with just two Premier League goals this season.
