Are traditional scarves back in fashion? The simple blue/white, blue/white or red/white, red/white ones. Noticed a few in the ground and on the telly lately. Nice to see, if so, much better than the ones with writing on them etc.

In short - Yes.Originally posted by splott parker View PostAre traditional scarves back in fashion? The simple blue/white, blue/white or red/white, red/white ones. Noticed a few in the ground and on the telly lately. Nice to see, if so, much better than the ones with writing on them etc.
Loads of retro stuff generally is, and the bar scarves seem to be too, at a lot of clubs. More of a classic look I guess.
I wear a blue and white bar one, with thin yellow stripes to city games and I am very fashionable indeed.

Didn't see any rosettes, did you? How about rattles, would they be deemed as annoying as feck these days, as well as a safety risk? :hehe:Originally posted by splott parker View PostAre traditional scarves back in fashion? A 1950s/early 1960s theme day could be in the offing………I could dig some clothes out from the back of my wardrobe :hehe:Originally posted by Rock_Flock_of_Five View PostDidn't see any rosettes, did you? Tank top, budgie collared shirt, flares & platforms, complete contrast to the button down Ben Sherman, bracers, tight jeans & DMs of a few years earlier.Originally posted by Toggs View PostI’ve still got a nylon scarf from the 70s, I might start wearing to matches, tied round my wrist of course.

As South Africa are playing in the opening fixture of the World Cup let's hope that their fans don't bring those infuriating vuvuzelas.Originally posted by Rock_Flock_of_Five View PostDidn't see any rosettes, did you? Re: Scarves
I’ve got one of them in the cupboard somewhere. I wish I had the bobble hat my mam knitted around about 1964, all blue, white bobble with Cardiff in white wool knitted on the front. The Sporting Lisbon game I was on the railings between the standing corner of the Bob Bank and the Canton Stand. I was on telly, with my bobble hat on, in the highlights of the game when a corner was being taken. The blue bobble hat really stood out in black & white!!Originally posted by NYCBlue View PostI've still got my first and only City scarf. Blue, white and yellow horizontal stripes. 1977.
