Re: Wardley vs Dubois
I dont watch a lot of boxing these days but felt this was going to be worth tuning in , I wasn't disappointed. I hope Wardley is ok , they both deserve the utmost respect for their performances. Dubois is a monster , Wardley a true gladiator. I woke up this morning thinking "I hope he is ok"... It should have been stopped , but I understand apparently Wardley has come back from similar positions to the one he was in , first time I have seen him box .
There is a lot of hype for Moses Itauma , would he beat any of these two?

Re: Wardley vs Dubois
Should never have been allowed to have gone on to the 11th.
Warren was talking about the rematch clause. I dont think for Wardleys health they should take it out. Hed have a punchers chance but hes likely to take another battering and Should think of his own health.
Hes got a good punch great chin and bags of heart , technique , defence though is badly lacking.

Re: Wardley vs Dubois
Itauma looks a good prospect. Hes yet to be tested. I expect him to beat Dubois though. He trains with Wardley so that fight will never happen. On what we've seen hes miles better than Wardley mind and probably a total mismatch.Originally posted by Jimmy the Jock View PostI dont watch a lot of boxing these days but felt this was going to be worth tuning in , I wasn't disappointed. Re: Wardley vs Dubois
Agreed. I've seen a lot of boxers say that it's not the one punch knockouts that do the brain damage, it's the repeated damaging blows over the course of a whole fight and Wardley took more of them than I think I've ever seen someone take, certainly ones of that power. Heart of an absolute lion thoughOriginally posted by Hilts View PostShould never have been allowed to have gone on to the 11th.

Re: Wardley vs Dubois
People referring to the Huni fight where Wardley was 9 rounds down, then came up with a massive shot that finished Huni. Wardley was getting peppered in that fight as well. Difference is that Dubois hits twice as hard as Huni, his right hand jab is like a power shot. I honestly struggled to watch the last couple of rounds of that fight. Wardley couldn't even walk in a straight line back to his corner. He'll fight on though but will need along time out to recover. There's one more big pay day in it for him. The rematch with Dubois should never happen though.Originally posted by delmbox View PostAgreed. Re: Wardley vs Dubois
Wardley spent an unbelievable amount of energy throwing haymakers that never landed... If he had used his energy a little more intelligently perhaps he wouldn't have ended up as tired and therefore collecting hits to his head as he did.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostPeople referring to the Huni fight where Wardley was 9 rounds down, then came up with a massive shot that finished Huni. Of course if he landed one and knocked out Dubois we would be having a different discussion.

Re: Wardley vs Dubois
I don't think he's got anything else in his locker Jim, apart from that overhand right (which is absolutely devastating if it lands-see Frazer clarke 2) Wardley has no amateur background, just white collar as you probably know. As thedays have passed i really believe he should retire after that. There's no way any man can take that amount pf punishment to the brain without future consequences. He has absolutely nothing to prove, afew quid in the bank, he's articulate and likeable, he'd get plenty of punditry work. I hope he goes down that route. Ben Davidson should be ashamed with himself in my opinion. His first job is to protect his fighter.Originally posted by Jimmy the Jock View PostWardley spent an unbelievable amount of energy throwing haymakers that never landed... I agree. He just hasn't the ability to fight any other way.Originally posted by Tuerto View PostI don't think he's got anything else in his locker Jim, apart from that overhand right (which is absolutely devastating if it lands-see Frazer clarke 2) Wardley has no amateur background, just white collar as you probably know. Its not just Davidson , its the ref , promoter talking over a rematch calling it fight of the year.
It wasn't really a fight after rd6 just a fighter getting badly beaten up. That wasn't fight of the year. Horrible watch as it went on.

Re: Wardley vs Dubois
Apart from the two knockdowns, Wardley didn't win one second of that fight. Wardley will never be the same fighter after that, it's not possible.Originally posted by Hilts View PostI agree. He just hasn't the ability to fight any other way.
