Re: Eurovision 26
We don't do proper euro trash. I don't have a clue what our song was this time but usually we treat it like x factor when it really needs something you would see in the early rounds of Britain's got talent.Originally posted by bobh View PostUK ended with 1 point from the juries, zero from the public...again.
Are our songs THAT bad (in relation to the other countries - they're all pretty meh) or does everyone hate us?
Oh and everyone hates us.

We never hit the right tone. Usually seem to be trying too hard and too often pick singers no one has heard of which builds little momentum for the song.Originally posted by bobh View PostUK ended with 1 point from the juries, zero from the public...again.

I quite liked last nights! Nice to hear a little German in it. I note they got no points from the audiences too mind..

There will usually be one zany performer each year but it most definitely isn't a freak show. Some of the singing is amazing. One act sang a note which lasted 28 seconds and had an incredible voice.Originally posted by Seven seas of rhye View PostI never ever watch it but all I know is that it's a freakshow for talentless people. The voting is one of the elements I don't like about eurovision. You can fairly reliably guess who many countries juries will give 12 points to and Israel and Israelis have been attempting to rig the public vote.Originally posted by bobh View PostUK ended with 1 point from the juries, zero from the public...again.

There is an element of unpopularity towards the UK especially after Brexit but Sam Ryder proved a good song well performed will cut through that. He was only denied a win due to sympathetic voting towards Ukraine as they had just been invaded.

Re: Eurovision 26
Points we've received from the public vote since the current system came in (for context, last night's winner got 312):
0 0 0 9 183 0 3 25 12 8
The 183 was Sam Ryder, and still 4 countries got more from the public than he did, even though he finished 2nd overall.
We don't send the right songs - usually too safe and bland, last night too wacky - but every year some truly dreadful songs performed by poor singers do much better than us.
