I’m not one for honours but this one is totally deserved, for his attitude, commitment and support of Rob Burrows & the MND community. £11million raised to date.

Agree completely - if we have to have them, then I'd say this is the most deserved Knighthood of recent years.Originally posted by Des Parrot View PostI’m not one for honours but this one is totally deserved, for his attitude, commitment and support of Rob Burrows & the MND community. £11million raised to date.

Re: Sir Kevin Sinfield
Kevin Sinfield is a legend of Rugby League anyway, but his work and dedication for MND goes far above anything else.
This is well deserved when most gongs are back slapping the people within the industry which is rotten to the core.
Wouldve been funny if KS refused it though

?Originally posted by PontBlue View Post100% well deserved.
Volunteering and charity work should be the only reason people are honoured. Doing your job, even if you do it well, is not a reason for an honour.
Bang on the money, it makes me think when you see people picking up these awards for doing their job, how much it’s devalued the awards and how much of it is box ticking for box ticking sake?
Surely they know deep down that they have done FA in reality to earn it
Especially when they see someone like Kevin Sinfield collecting an award that is fully deserved

Glad he's finally been given the knighthood, but partly because it'll put an end to those on Facebook who made an almost daily whinge of him not getting one.Originally posted by olderblue View Post?

As for those who've gotten one thats totally undeserved, it reminds me of the 2005 Ashes. The whole squad were given, I think an MBE, including Paul Collingwood. He only played on the final Test, scoring 17 runs and didnt take a single wicket.

As I’ve said above, serving your local community as a volunteer or charity work is fully commendable and worthy of being nominatedOriginally posted by The Bloop View PostGlad he's finally been given the knighthood, but partly because it'll put an end to those on Facebook who made an almost daily whinge of him not getting one.

Being a donor to a particular political party or being nominated for doing the job you’re employed for is totally farcical imho
