City are able to get the ball from one of their corner kicks all the way back to Alex Smithies some ninety yards away, like they did once last night, without a problem, but find it impossible to work the ball eighty yards upfield without an opposition interception?

Yes, I wasn't being altogether serious, but it is impressive the areas of the pitch we can manage to get the ball back to Smithies so that he can welly it back, usually presenting our opponents with possession in the process, to where it had been a few seconds earlier.
