There are three vaccines that have been approved for use, raising hopes of normal life resuming.
As of now 0.72% of Wales have Been vaccinated.
I wondered that. With the Pfizer jab BBC News on-line said that UK was hoping for 10m doses before year end, but seems they will have only 4 million doses. Wales share of 4m would be 200,000 and as it is year end I would hope they have them in stock in the two holding centres in Wales.
Why then have they only given 20-30,000 doses since 8 December? Vaughan Gethin said 2000 jabs a day are being given. Why so slow??
On TV tonight he said that the AZ vaccine will be started in Wales next week but he didn't commit to mentioning which particular day. He also said it would be slow for a couple of days before the processed accelerated. He knows 2,500 people a day are currently confirmed with Covid in Wales and hospitals are under pressure, but a few days here or there just doesn't seem to matter to him.
England have plans for mass injection programme from Monday aiming at 2m a week. An equivalent number for Wales would be 100,000 a week. I hope for everyone's sake he comes up with the goods
Oh god Vaughan was soon sounding off in his usual negative way when the vaccine was announced weeks ago saying this will be logistically tough, sadly he's right when you look at his record through this virus where is that world class lab in Newport,?
