Tell us more about your experiences in the trenches stan butlerOriginally posted by stan butler View PostBooing anti swansea songs and others you don't like haha.
How did you and your circle of nerds on here cope in the dark days of football?
All clubs sing about their rivals regardless of if they are playing them.
Christ half of you on this thread must have had a good few layers of cotton wool wrapped around you growing up.
Good guess where the offended by everything snowflakes came from.
I wouldn't want to be in the trenches with some on here.
I can see it now as the bombs drop on the battle field a few of you would be writing complaint letters that the explosions are to loud and there's no toilet and packed lunches provided.

No need for the hymns and arias song but other anti swansea stuff have been sung for decades even when we ain't playing them and i for one see nothing wrong with it if they want to sing it.Originally posted by delmbox View PostI don't think there's anything wrong with a bit of it's coming home you fecked it up for these first few games of the season, God knows we'd be getting sung at if they'd won it and it was only a month ago.
The anti Swansea stuff's stupid when we're not playing them though, and the least said about the hymns and arias song the better.

Not at all. You rate yourself a fair bit if you think you have.Originally posted by dml1954 View PostOohh, hit a nerve have I ? Cutting edge was in inverted commas, I was being sarcastic. Your analysis is basically biased drivel. Once again, you have summarised the contents of my post to suit your own agenda. You continually misrepresent what I say - where did I say I saw great things in last nights performance. You are not interested in what people say anyway, you just keep pedalling the same old rubbish - Wilson was useless, the manager is useless, the team are useless, the owner and board are useless blah de blah de blah. For gods sake give it a rest. PS. If you think you need more positivity on the board, you are going about it in a very strange way.
I haven't said half of those things.
I don't think Wilson is as good as many rate him to be (I said this at the start of last season by the way before his price dropped by almost half).
Our manager is a solid manager at this level but his style is not an entertaining one. Mehmet tells us he wants a more entertaining style, which Im sure the fans are crying out for, then employs Neil Harris and Mick McCarthy.
The team are decent enough and I don't think will be in trouble this term. Upper mid table probably the realistic finish for us if Moore stays fit for the majority and gets close to the number of goals he got last season. We're not promotion contenders for me. For you they are. Fair enough, opinions differ.
As for the board I will give Tan little credit for anything other than putting his money in. I think he lacks a great deal of football knowledge which is evidenced in thinking that Choo and Dalman are sufficient to make this club successful. I think he has used us as his play thing and once he realised he couldn't do what he liked with the club has lost interest in us and hardly ever attends any more (this was happening pre Covid).
That about it really. We will be the Championship average club until Tan realises we need more in the boardroom and more football knowledge with a clear vision.
What parts of that do you disagree with?

However with little football knowledge hes overseen by far the most successful teams with 2 PL promotions and including a Football League Championship.Originally posted by blue lewj View PostNot at all. You rate yourself a fair bit if you think you have.

I think we are looking at mid table at the moment.
I think Tan or his family will be at the club years and I reckon at some point we will go back up.
The key this time is a plan to stay there.
To be fair we far from disgraced ourselves last time. Big if but if it wasnt for that abysmal referee and linesman v Chelsea we may have stayed up.

I think we will go back up eventually and hope we do. I just think the club are missing a trick by not employing football people at board level. Maybe Tan and the board know that would mean an overhaul and don't want that. I'm not sure for the reasoning behind it.Originally posted by Hilts View PostHowever with little football knowledge hes overseen by far the most successful teams with 2 PL promotions and including a Football League Championship.

As I said to dml I need to be more positive. Showing frustration on here isn't great but it is better backing the team for 90 minutes and posting here than showing it at a game.
I think we'll be in limbo for a bit yet in the Championship so I just need to learn to enjoy it for what it is. I am a bit more optimistic in person, not much, but I'm sure I am a bit more positive .

To be fair, despite the low numbers last night, the Canton in the second half did sing non stop.Definitely happened at Luton. Was a midweek game, Tuesday night probably.Originally posted by Majorblue View PostI remember it at Luton but as I have never been to Derby you may be right about the Baseball/ Pride Park.

None of those.Originally posted by delmbox View PostAnd what in your mind happens when you say something that people don't agree with these days? Arrested? Thrown in prison? Executed?
Just people having a meltdown in the belief that some or all of those things should happen.
Not me necessarily but I've seen the fallout and outrage off the back of what others have said.
