Far more people seem to own dogs up here compared to Cardiff, but I've not heard of one dog theft in the area during the pandemic.

Re: Dog theft up 170 per cent since 2019.
Every week our local media has reports of people having dogs snatched, people approaching them on walks etc. I have no idea how accurate these are but the concerns are there.
I can certainly understand why dog theft is happening as the prices being charged are sky high.
Since a child I have had dogs but over the last 12 months my beloved two labs died through old age. I looked at some puppies but the asking price was over £2500 per dog. These were recognised breeders with high standards but even so it gives you an idea of what the financial gains are especially if you are a fly by night set up.
In the end I simply gave up and although I miss having a dog they are a big commitment and it has freed up a lot of time for me to start painting again which is also quite time consuming.

A woman I know has just lost her pug , ugly little things to breathing problems , no wonder given the inter breeding
She's just paid 3 grand for another one
Which just keeps the cycle going , no wonder people are nicking them
There are dogs on death row at council and independent dog sanctuaries........go there and give a lonely dog a loving home you selfish bastards
Your pedigree disease infested designer dog is no more special than a stray
I also know a woman who has 12 alsatians. 12 .
These people are odd and need treatment .

That’s probably because of the ridiculous prices people now manage to sell them for with or without papers.
I saw an advert on Shpock for half bred J.Russells for £900 and he WAS selling them.
Most dog thefts used to be for vivisection but I think that’s changed and its worse in places where young rather daft people have a lot of money and not much sense.
