Good side on paper and doing very well so far. Sitting on a 12 point lead currently at the top. Surrey still short, but they look a bit weak in the bowling department, and their batting lineup will be hit hard by the England squad.
A Notts and Leicestershire double could make some punters from the East Midlands a tidy little sum come the autumn.

England basically ignore county cricket. Bashir was picked based on nothing whatsoever and has kept his place by doing more nothing.

Bashir 8 with the bat, 52 with the ball
Kellaway 33 with the bat, 26 with the ball

I appreciate that the recent 181 not out helps his batting average a bit lol but Bashir would do well to score 180 in a season.

Now I'd rather not lose Kellaway to England but there isn't even a comparison. My dad watches almost every minute on stream and he was raving about Kellaway having talent although he wasn't quite doing it. We went to a couple of days of the Sussex game at the end of last year and I've never seen a spinner beat the bat as much as Kellaway did in one spell, it wasn't even a particularly helpful wicket.

I hadn't noticed how well Leicester were doing. Yeah I bet there's a few who had the east midlands double at a good price.

No doubt there'll be a fair few punters sweating already who thought a Surrey/Lancashire double was just buying money 🤣

Espn suggests hes more of a bowler who can bat a bit, rather than a batter who can bowl.
Might be a useful addition for the T20 but can't see him adding anything to what we already have for 4 day matches.

Should be a useful addition. Genuine all rounder and used to being part of a Sydney sixers side that is generally very competitive

Would agree with you there. I'd be surprised if he plays much 4 day stuff

He’s not played much four day stuff, but his averages aren’t bad, has a top score of 98 not out in Tw0.

Northants win the toss and, unusually for Cardiff, decide to bat.

Excellent session after lunch and good to see the tail finished off quickly. Encouraging.
