Re: Giles
Last season Ojo created 14 chances and Giles has managed 7 in just the two games.
It will get tougher for him as sides look to stop him more but he's doing well.
My concern is that we're playing too many players who won't be here next year and while I wouldn't include Giles in that, though he meets the definition, there are others where we could be focusing more on next season without such a loss in quality.

Where are you getting this from?Originally posted by surge View PostLast season Ojo created 14 chances and Giles has managed 7 in just the two games.
I really like the look of Giles, very promising indeed, but the fact is that Ojo scored 5 goals last season and is credited with no less than 7 assists. So how does that equate with creating only 14 chances? Are you saying that 50% of the chances Ojo created ended up with City scoring?
I love a good stat, but there are so many 'performance' stats on so many websites these days and most of them are utter crap.

Re: Giles
Pretty sure Mo Salah registered an assist yesterday on some sites when accidentally touching the ball onto Jota for Liverpool's goal so I agree you have to consider how stat is calculated to see if it's worthwhile or not.Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostWhere are you getting this from?

I'm using the BBC site for mine: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football...corers/assists (you can also view top scorer/assists for each club).
According to their figures from last year Ojo created 14 chances and 7 became goals.

Re: Giles
My criticism of Tomlin is that a lot of what he tries doesn't come off... the little back-heels, the flicks, the attempted nutmegs etc.Originally posted by J R Hartley View PostFinally we have a player other than Tomlin who gets you on the edge of your seat.
So far so good. He’s been excellent.
It all looks wonderful, WHEN it comes off.
Giles, on the other hand, is more measured in what he attempts and we seem to keep possession in the middle better as a result.

Re: Giles
I understand what you mean about Tomlin but name a player that doesn't look wonderful when things come off. He's a luxury player we don't have room for at the moment although I do love him when he pulls things out the bag like Leeds when we came from 3 down to draw.Originally posted by Rock_Flock_of_Five View PostMy criticism of Tomlin is that a lot of what he tries doesn't come off... the little back-heels, the flicks, the attempted nutmegs etc.
