This is what's worrying, its premeditated.

Shame a few docks boys didn't catch them in the act.

the statue clearly isn't there to celebrate the way he lived, it is to remember how he died and what has happened since

In this case i believe i was wrong and hope the bastard who did it is caught and punished.
I was in Butetown week before last visiting some friends and i mentioned the mural and how good i thought it was and they seemed very happy if not proud of it.

Irrespective of what he did he was killed by a police officer who suffocated him

And he was one of many black men killed by the police in the USA

This what the protest was about

You get wilful damage everywhere from mindless folk .

Its all a bit sad as these stones In the link below and the statue in town have had stuff damaged and put on them .

I can remember paint throwing as very naughty pastime at many statues and buildings

This is the sort of penalties we should dish out 8 years imprisonment once they are found ,make folk think twice , community service wont

He didn't choose to become the martyr the police chose that by killing him in the street.

What did he do to make him a scumbag? Did he do anything bad enough to be killed by the state without a trial?

He didn't deserve to die, obviously, that was tragic.

He didn't seem to be the nicest person in the world mind did he, the stories can't all be wrong, some people may label him a scumbag for some of the choices he made in life.

So the mural should be defaced then?

Unless entirely missing the point how he lived is life isn't important in the slightest is it?

What did he even do to make him a scumbag? Was it any worse than any other scumbag?
