I get the impression that he is a man who is passionate about football and finds it difficult to give it up.

He may be but I’m convinced he’s also passionate about lining his own pockets, allegedly, even though he’s obviously legitimately earning a decent wage. He and his agent friends rinsed us in more than one transfer transaction I reckon.
