Re: Life in the UK test

21/24. I suppose that allows me to come back? :hehe:
I guessed correctly on a few, but some of the questions are just downright daft!

19/24. And some of those 19 were random guesses.

Also, there's an incorrect answer in the quiz.

"There is no place in British society for extremism or intolerance."

The answer given as correct is: True

However, the correct answer should be: False - the place for extremism and intolerance is the House of Commons.

Just to see if I was a bit 'fluky' with my first attempt, I tried the second test and got 17.

One question was.. True or False:
"Everything you read in Hansard can be found online"?

Another... "How many members of the Scottish Parliament are there"?

              Bloody Nora! :hehe:

Has Commons and Lords records from 1802 to today!

Yes, how can this opinion be presented as fact? The government encourage it, the Home Secretary in particular.

It is if you decide to take it to court.

Oh, I'm not disputing that it exists. However, would you honestly expect someone from an overseas country to know the answer to that question?

True - it could be a civil offence if you refuse to pay your debts.

                              But that wasn't the statement.

Most of us have owed money to banks, building societies, family or friends at one time or another. Owing money is not an offence.

A lot of the wording in that test is sloppy or loaded, apart from the bizarre choice of questions.
