Makes me wonder whether Rooney has taken a big hit on his wages? He was on a right screw as a player, and he was done as a player at this level, his legs are in a store cupboard deep in the bowels of old trafford. First managerial appointment, he's loaded(has he done his badges?) Nobody at our level would pay his playing salary as a manager-surely? Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Joey Barton, Wayne Rooney and to a lesser degree, Paul Scholes, have all walked into decent managerial jobs over the past few years, i'm sorry, something is up. Imagine a black footballer, coming towards the end of his career, with a charge sheet like Joey Barton has, getting a decent league 1 managerial job? Apparently he's done well for them and they'll probably climb the table in the second half of the season. Can't remember if that was the opinion of Not The 20 podcast or The Second Tier but it was one of them.Comment
