That's the thing that baffles me, a union jack isn't exactly my cup of tea but I understand some people feel more British than Welsh etc, but loyalism? That's odd

Yeah, but its hardly like we have a large Irish nationalist/republican following. Its like they want to be a tinpot Rangers, really strange

There's a little pocket of Nazis in Swansea.

The City may not have a large Irish republican following but Cardiff itself has a massive connection to The Republic. I’d imagine there are thousands of Cardiffians with Irish heritage.

Yup, Irish and south west english. The poor Irish came to south wales, Liverpool etc. The ones with a couple of quid went to the states.

It's only called a union jack when it's flown at sea..otherwise it's called a union flag

Bingo! You're well on the way to passing your 'British' citizenship test.

                          Not so.

Union Jack or Union Flag? You can use both names to describe the UK's national flag. Authoritative guidance from the Flag Institute.

We're the capital. They can never be that. So they do the opposite. I'd like to think that we're mostly republican, but I have my doubts. Being loyal to our subjugators and especially to a "crown" makes no sense to me.

I like it when the subtle ones are recognised :-)

Sure, but I imagine there's plenty with Irish heritage in Swansea

It just feels like a weird thing for a section of their fans to do because it's bound to piss off a fair few Swansea fans (which it obviously has).
