Interestingly there are 300 Food Banks in 29 European countries they appear to have a dual purpose of preventing food waste and reducing food insecurity for those in need .

They have been around for some time and are very purposeful , first seen in 60 's in the USA , Europe saw them developing from the 80's , think there about 20 years old in the UK

1000 items collected by the Trust to be contributed to the Foodbank thanks to the generosity of City fans plus £125 collected in donations. A great result.
