    Re: F1 showdown

The stewards amended the rules just to have a final lap shootout. Never thought I'd feel a bit sorry for Lewis but I think he's been a bit hard done by there, but his team shouldve found a way to pit at some point.

I for one will not bother to watch F1 again.
That was a car crash of a race.
Destroyed by rules and regulations that no-one seems to understand.

You might not like their laws or agree with them, but bloody well respect them.

          Me neither.
That farce will have done nothing to attract fresh F1 viewers.

They were 100% right to get the lapped cars out of the way.
When the safety car pissed off, there was 1 lap left.
The lapped cars had more than 1 lap left.
            They couldn't catch up.
Correct decision and the British media are jumping all over it.
If we were watching this in another country with unbiased media, nobody would be making a fuss.

This race will be talked about forever cos of the last lap win.

The rules are either no-one overtakes or all lapped cars overtake. Letting 5 thru only to put Verstappen on the back of Hamilton isn’t a rule. It’s all or none. Mercedes are one of my customers & I can’t see them accepting that lying down.

I don’t follow F1 normally but it seems Hamilton has been robbed. It’s like a team being 2-0 up and something stops the game. Then they say right, 1 minute to go and it’s 0-0.

They made those 5 cars pass because they were in the way of the 2 leaders.
The other cars weren't a problem.

Question for you. Without googling do you know who finished 5th or 6th?
Neither do I. No one cares. That's why they moved those 5 cars.

Michael Masi not strong enough for the job.

                        Re: F1 showdown

As soon as they decided to let Max be right behind Lewis at the restart there was only going to be one winner. I didn't really mind either way who won but that seemed like a gift.

Wrong. Read the international media. It’s not a British thing. That “procedure” has never been used before & doesn’t exist. Only 5 of the lapped cars were let through, all or none of the should have been let through.

If there were 2 laps left instead of 1 would they have allowed all of the lapped cars through? I suspect they would have, so letting just 5 through because there's just 1 lap remaining is wrong.

I'd been enjoying the race up until the fiasco at the end. Hamilton deserved it and yet loses.

The whole of F1 though is not a level playing field anyway.
