    He was sentenced to six months. But he never served it. It was still being appealed when he died.

      I was hardly going to list them all. Saw Led Zepelin several times at the Top Rank. Yes they were popular but mainly followed by music lovers and those who appreciated musical talent rather than the people who bought singles. You could also mention Deep Purple, who I have also seen, as well as countless others of that ilk.

          Anyway, yes the Doors were truly a great band. 6 amazing albums in 4 years. Hugely popular in the '60s '80s, 90's and to this day.

            Deep Purple once played at the old Sophia Gardens. They were so loud the paint stared to flake off the ceiling. At the end of the night I combed masses of cream and blue paint out of my hair. What a band.
